Fished the first tourney of the year and tough doesn't describe it.  It was 25 degrees when we launched and warmed up to 35 for a high.  Surface water temps two weeks ago were 51-53 degrees and Saturday the warmest I found was 44.2 in the back of some protected coves.
We fished hard all the day switching between jerkbait, crankbait, Carolina rig, jig, shaky head, and finally a spinnerbait.  Only had 1 bite and it was a squeaker.  Feel bad for my partner, that's two trips and he has only managed 1 bite and only 2 for me with a 2.7 and 1.12 lb spot hitting a 6XD in white/chartreuse.
I've heard Ouachita can be tough and she lived up to her rep again.  Beautiful clear lake and jost goes to show I have LOTS to learn.  The winners threw C-Rigs and caught some nice Spots, not sure on the weight but there were a few good fish caught, always seems to be someone figures them out.  Looking forward to the next event at Lake DeGray (another lake I've NEVER FISHED....YET ;D)  Wish I had better results but any day on the water is a good day, even at 25 degrees.

Those are very tough conditions. Definitely would have me scratching my head?

Thanks for sharing your trip. You've got warmer water than I had this weekend and I'm a couple hours south. When I launched for our tournament on Caddo, the water temp was 37 degrees....  :o warmed all the way to 40.7  ~roflmao

Thanks for sharing. I love Ouachita, but I've only been there in the spring. I'm hoping I can make it up there one weekend in April.
