Southern Cali Castaic Colors

I am thinking of painting my own baits specifically for Southern California's Castaic and Pyramid lakes where I fish... does anyone have any success using any specific colors there?

Haven't fished there in way to many years but Castaic was always a trout lake. Light browns and pale whites always did very well too.
