Keeping sealed compartments dry

Living in Seattle, I too experience wet compartments in the winter. Mostly due to condensation.  I found a cheap and effective way of removing the moisture from the air that does not harm my boat.   If you have ever been to Hawaii (or any damp climate) you may have noticed that the restaurants add rice to the salt shakers to prevent clumping.
I started putting bowls of white rice in all my compartments and they are dry as a bone come spring. Just make sure to keep the lids closed so mice won't stop by for a free meal.

Yep better include mouse traps with that rice and check every couple of weeks to prevent the dead mouse smells.
