Went fishing with my partner the other day, and we were cracking them, I go to pick up my dc736 and the tip just falls off! I look at my cousin in shock. He says,  man I probably stepped on it. We were having such a good day I didn't even care,     until I got home, no original sales receipt,  oh no! Not a problem, just got off the phone with dobyns, 90$ replacement fee, done! What great customer service. Most of my sticks are loomis or st croix but its service like that, makes me almost want to switch,   thank you dobyns!

Thanks for sharing your good customer service story!  ~c~ It's so easy to get spun up and post about bad stuff we often forget to mention the good.

Sorry to hear about the breakage, a little shipping time and your back in the game though.

Thats awesome!! Dobyns has some great CS for sure.

As Cork said, you can flip out pretty easy when breaking a rod. Lots of guys step on theirs, bang them all over stuff and then get made when they break one.

Best part about it is the hook holder is different, my original 736 had a very very small hook holder, I didnt like this because im using very thick gauge hooks with this rod, the replacement rod hook holder is much bigger. They saw a problem in design, fixed it. Some rod builders refuse to do that, aka nrx lock down nut, st croix extreme no hook holder, ect, ect. Thank you dobyns.

Gary takes plenty of suggestions from staff and customers, which is somewhat rare. Of course...Dobyns are actually designed rods, up and down the lineup. I like to call them a custom production rod.

The 736 is next on my list. I need a beast frog rod. I like to have extra when needed. The 735 is a great rod for frogs, but the 736 is just the next step.

Didn't care? I might have flipped out ha ha.

Warranties are a great thing.

My replacement rod folded on me this past weekend, disappointing.  Snapped clean right past the first guide. I will be replacing it with a bcr875, should be a very close comparison to the dc736.

I've been a little unlucky with this particular stick, we'll see how the loomis holds up, might end up getting a custom st croix build.

There is no BCR series anymore..  The new GLX has JWR series like the NRX or the FPR. In any case they are fantasic rods.  If you buy a Loomis get it from American Legacy, they will replace the rod free of charge should you ever break it.

Bcr875 mossyback, I have a few mossybacks and they have served me very well.
