Friday July 8. We went and fished the tournemnet. Fishing was terrible. The water was way up and muddyyyyyyyy. Around 60 boats and only 6 weighed in. We weighed in 1 fish which was 2nd biggest fish of the night at 4.2lbs. Caught it on a red rat-l-trap around brush 0-5 ft.

WTG on an obviously very tough day. 60 boats fished and only 6 weighed in  :shocking: ouch. Great job on being one of the 6 ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ did you have a front or something come threw that shut them down.

July 17, We put in around 5:30am and fished til 10:00am. We caught 6 fish. Ranging from 10'-16' long. Started out using a black buzz bait caught 4 on it. Switched to a black spinner bait with willow blades caught the other 2. Right before i left i hooked a real good fish i couldnt do anything with him and he broke the line with my spinner bait. But it wasnt a bad day.

Sounds like a great day for just a couple hours fishing. What made you go with a black spinner bait? sounds like it worked, but normaly after the sun comes up I switch to a shad pattern, just curious so that I can add this to my arsenal :-*

Well it stayed really cloudy out so i figured i would try throwing it. I already had it tied on a rod from a few nights ago.

Fished the tourny on Fri. night. The fishing was terrible. Not many people weighed-in. All fish that were caught were very small. The lake was down alot so i guess the fish were deep as they could get.

Has it dropped rather quickly? Usually the fish will not pull out just because it is low but if it dropped in just a couple week period they might be suspended in deeper water for security reasons, they should still come shallow to feed though :-* unless they have plenty of bait fish with them  ;)

I been doing real well up there in the tournys using the zoom big critter watermelon seed color on a t-rig. It dont hurt sometimes to dye the claws yellow on them. If u let out of castle bridge be sure to hit that first bridge pylon. I caught 2 big fish there in the past weeks.

Went last Sunday for a tourney, water back down but it was real muddy still. I went up river and stayed until about an hour before weigh in but I couldn't buy a bite. I run back down and fished the docks and the cut across from Castle Bridge, and with 15 minutes to go, I hooked and landed a 5-3 on a brown jig, which gave me big fish for the day and big fish for the year. That was my only bite all day, I threw tx rig, spinner baits and everything else in the box but nothing.......

Good Job on big bass! Don't you hate finding something that works right at weigh-in time. I've done it a few times and feel like kicking my own butt for not doing it earlier.

Those Carolinabaits have been working down here pretty good. Got my partner hooked on them.

Had the first tournament of the year for MWS NC Div 1 this past Saturday. Water temps varied from 53 to 57 degrees on most of the lake. The upper end of the lake past the fork was the most consistent with temps staying near 57 degrees. No shad=No bass Pretty much same pattern through out the lake. Lagest bag of the tournament went 22.20 working a crank and jerkbait pattern around points in 3-15 feet of water.
I don't have a problem!
I'm not addicted to bass fishing. I can quit whenever I want.
