Extending my deck on my Bass boat

I have a 93 Tracker Tournament V-17 I'm thinking of extending my deck on all the way up to the console to add in some more work space and storage. My plan was to run 2 piano hinges connected to 3/4" plywood coated in polyurethane for weather treatment and grip tape. My thought was to add additional storage easy accessible as well. I want to be able to lift one side up and leave a side down if I don't need to entire platform raised.

Any help or tips, pics videos to point me in the right direction would be most helpful.

Have you thought about using alum. for the extension? you could make it like a box top and just rivet it in. and put a lid in front of the console for storage.

Dont remember the video names but i did a search "bass boat videos" came up with 3 videos. One was a complete redo of one like yours.

I'm looking into this today.... Here is a thought... What about using expanded metal instead of a solid top... Reduce weight? Does anyone see a down side to it?

Expanded metal will be rough on the feet over a period and would leak thru.. and would weigh a lot. I was thinking of use diamond plate alum. or just take a old big truck tool box and cut to fit. I am building a 30gal fuel tank out of one for my boat.
