Fished our Top 10 tournament today on the river. We had a late start because this was opening weekend of duck season and we did want any confrontations with the duck hunters. Well the fishing was kind of poor to start off with and I wasnt helping matters with the way I was fishing. The day did get better though and I ended up catching about 20 fish. I had a decent stringer but it was several ozs lighter than Johnny Reed's stringer who ended up with first place. All in all had a great day on the river and had  a blast fishing against some good friends. As for the report: the river is in good shape, the water temp was 67 degrees and stained to clear. I caught almost all my fish on a texas rigged worm in depths from 1 foot to 9 foot.

Good to hear that place is recovering. Seems like it's slowly becoming a good fishery :-*

It was good to see a WLF biologist at the weigh in. He was asking questions and taking data from everyone there. Good to see them them doing that. The river is the same as it has been for years, lots of fish but mostly small. Don't really know if there is anything they can do about it or if it is something we just have to accept. It's still one of my favorite places to fish. You may not catch big one but you catch a lot and it is fun, not mention it is one beautiful place to spend a day fishing.

Glad to see y'all caught some fish. We went out there a few months back and I had a Ldwf biologist come ask me how I felt about calcaseiu and other louisiana lakes and rivers. Good to see they care about our opinions.
