How is the water level there?  I heard they were going to stop releasing in August, has it filled back up yet?

I went for a ride to look at the lake last Thursday.  Went to the port and the water level was low but there were about 15 crappie boats that had launched and were fishing in the main channel.  It was pretty clear of salvania and navigable.  Drove over the dam road and I assume that the gates are still open since there was good flow south of the dam into Loggy bayou.  There was a strong north wind that had salvania covering the main channel.  I saw a boat that had launched at Grieces that had to cut through some pretty thick mats to get back to the launch.  I didn't drive over to the spillway to look at the position of the gates but apparently they are still open and by my observation the water level is around 6-7 feet below pool.
