Remedy for keeping line from catching guides of other rods when transporting

When I car top or load the V bottom into the back of the truck, I carry the rods bundled to save space.
The biggest pain is to separate the rods once the destination is reached because line always wraps around the guides of other poles as the rods turn. To prevent it, I follow these steps:
First, I wrap the line around the line guides top to bottom.



Second, I cut a round disk from plastic foam and cut slits as shown:


Third, I wrap a flexible hair curler thingy or other wire around the rods as shown above.
Now I can transport the rods in the car or on board any boat and be able to avoid line grabbing the guides of other rods.
