What rod to use on the big boy 10 XD.

I'd like to give them a try but dang they are big.

This is not a hobby for me, its a sick addiction. Now my son has the problem...isnt it great!!!

I would like to take this time to thank Bass for biteing my lures and bringing me joy.

I use the Kistler KLX 10XD rod...........  It is a 7'11 H Parabolic that loads up and fishes 10XD's Great
10XD are 1.96 OZ and the LC SKT magnum is 3 oz but runs a full 5 ft deeper.

I've got the klx 6xd and 10xd rod. Haven't used the 10xd rod yet though.

I also use the 6xd for spoons

Most manufacturers are now making rods specific to these baits. Combining the ability to cast them with the ability to feel with them has been a challenge but it's been figured out.

Dobyns has a couple rods that work very well for these monster baits very well.

You think a 10XD is a pig, throw a Livingston DM20!  >:D

I seen a KVD Giant baitcaster at Wally World that might fit the BILL. LOL

Check out the Denali Kovert 7'6" med/hvy crankbait rod. It will throw it very well.

I'm pretty familier with Denali's crankbait rods and I think a 10xd would really over load the MH (altough I haven't tried the kovert) It's almost twice the weight of the rods rating.
You can throw a DD22 on them but that's the heaviest I would personally go.
I have thrown them on the jadewood 7 ft 11 xheavy a-rig rod and it worked pretty well, it also makes a good flippin stick.

I would agree with mike.  Dobyns has a couple that work well with the 10XD.  I would say the 805CB is the best one now, but the new 806 should be out in about a month.  This will be the best one when it is released.

Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?

You should check out the Duckett White Ice 7'11" Byron Velvick "Lure Launcher" Rod. This Rod is fantastic for fishing those giant crankbaits. I am also a fan of the Kistler KLX rods but I do not own the KLX 10xd rod so I'm not sure about that one, I do know the KLX are great rods though.

Take a look @ the 10xd KLX rod.. I have one and love it.  You can even find coupons out there to bring the price down a tad...
