Mike,

Thanks for the text message and phone call on how to secure the trolling motor pedal to the inside of the recess tray.  Wedneday's adventure on Stillhouse was something else with the pedal sliding around and bouncing out of the tray while crossing rough water.  After talking with you and securing it to the tray (Wednesday night) today trip was a "Big Improvement" in the operation of the trolling motor.

Tks again for providing feedback on how to fix the problem.

That was an easy one Donald, anytime.

Canesfan, Donald wanted to bolt the pedal down but didn't want to have to make to make adjustments afterwards so he was curious where to place it for the initial bolting....

It's been my experience with a tray that the foot pedal should go as far back as possible and then left or right depending on how you stand.

Things to consider are where you stand freely on the boat or do you use a butt seat or chair. With a butt seat or chair you're going to have to be more specific where you bolt the petal down as the seat or chair are rigid. Standing freely, I like to bolt it down as far aft as possible, putting me just that much further in the center of the deck.

Benefits of having it bolted down, is that your foot will learn to work it from any position. If you are slightly sideways because of a wind direction or the way you have to fish, you can feel for the pedal and because it's now solid to the floor you can maneuver it without it tilting or pitching out from under your foot. Tray or not I think it's wise to mount your trolling motor pedal
