~b~ :help:Can somebody explain to me the reason for the rime?

I haven't exactly figured out the best time to throw it. But anytime you can find fish schooled up is a starting point. It's also a great way to cover a lot of water for suspended bass that are just cruising looking for shad.

We have some anglers here on the forum that have been pretty successful with it and they should chime in shortly.

If you can find schooling fish in pockets or along channels, throw it.  The best time for me has been post shad spawn when there are literally schools of bait fish everywhere.  Last year on the Chattahoochee I went fishing with my uncle and we were there right when the shad had just spawned and it looked like the water next to the banks were boiling because of all the baitfish.  Along with filling the boat fishing top water frogs like the horny toad and Iobee, we also were having two and three fish hook ups on the Alabama rig reeling it parallel to the grass lines with very light jig heads and super fluke jr.'s.  Hope this helps you get a general idea of when to throw it, I personally don't throw it that often because I just don't enjoy fishing it  lo but it will produce fish no doubt about it.
