Ok so back in the spring i lost 3 G loomis rods over board. 6 month later a buddie is fishing with me an catches 2 of the 3. The reels are done. But what i need to know on the rods the cork is in bad shape i guess the salt water and blue crabs here in maryland got to it. There are a few barnecals on the rod, can these be repaired or do i just throw them away. Thanks for the help.

Not entirely sure about the barnacles, if you carefully remove them instead of scraping them, then check if they started to eat on the rod. If not I think the rod should be good enough to try out. Salt water has a deterioration effect, but I would still try it anyways. It takes a while for them to work through hard coatings, so the blank itself might still be serviceable. If after you test the integrity of the blank then you can add new grips yourself.

As for easy replacement grips, Reel Grips, and Tour Star make replacement grips. Depending on the grips you get they all are running around $20 give or take.

because of the time I'd say they were not trust worthy. Using them for fun fishing would be okay but I wouldn't put them to tournament use.
