Fished our ABA Division 114 annual two-day tournament this past weekend and finished up 6th overall with 18.80 pounds. Weighed 8.56 pounds on day #1 and 10.24 on day #2. Was not on the fish to win, but happy I weighed a limit both days. Many did not do the same. The winner had 42+ pounds and weighed 22+ pounds the second day. The topwater bite was on first thing in the morning - Bang-O-Lures, frogs/toads, sammys, and spooks getting most of the attention. Grind it out was my pattern after the morning bite died.  The hydrilla gnats will test your will to fish certain areas of the lake right now.

One additional comment - many thanks to Navionics! Won via drawing after the tournament a software package for my Lowrance unit - a $99 product that I do not have and glad to have won. Thanks again!!

Hydrilla is topping out and noted there is much more American Pondweed on Seminole this year than past.

Still undecided Mike - depends on numerous family factors - decision to be made in next couple months.  Are you going - you've done extremely well this year!!

Ever fished Grand Lake?  What kind of lodging arrangements have you made - private home/motel/hotel/camping/other?

I've drove past it a couple times does that count? lo and am looking at getting up there this summer. It's only about 7 hours for me, unlike the 15 to Murray LOL

I have a couple guys from my local district that work out the room and board. They try and find a place that will sleep six or eight and then we all chip in for groceries as well. Right now I think we have four for sure going and another UB member joining the group, we'd love to have you too.

I'll have to get back with you later on that wonderful offer Mike - trying to determine if this will be a family vacation or me going solo or me not going at all.  Really appreciate the offer though and will be in touch. ~gf
