Tracker "Avalanche?"

I received some spam that got to my Inbox... Normally i would just delete it but this time there was a red boat which caught my Eye... I noted the name and then did a search for it... I found that this is an aluminum hull!!! at first glance it looked like a glass boat! Upon further investigating i found a few of these for sale....

I guess since i have been searching for boats my internet activity has been monitored.

these are some pretty nice units! any of you guys fishing out of one? they worth it? or is it just a marketing gimmick to give those who dont have a glass boat the ilusion of having one.

I have not, but I wish I had pulled the trigger on 1 before I got my PT175. Seem real nice. A tournament friend has one and loves his. I had a chance to get one but passed for a new pt175. Now that I look back I wished I had gotten the slightly used avalanche.

Hey,
I have started looking around at these boats.. they are some nice... and with a 150 strapped to the rear? thats something else!The prices i've been seeing are pretty close to a new tracker.I can't get over how much they look like a glass boat.. love the dual console too.. I have seen reg trackers with dual consoles too, although rare.. they exist.

I love mine...I have the EFI 150. If you can find somebody close that owns one, beg them to take you for a ride before you buy something else...you will probably be pretty impressed with it. My only wish is that they made it in a 20 or 21 footer with a 250...that would have been a sweet ride and plenty fast.

I've heard they are pretty good, but never personally been in one. I wonder why they quit making them. I think they were only made for 2-3 years.

They made them for about 7 years. They quit making them because (IMO), they were competing directly with the 898 which became the Z-7. The Avalanche with the 175 would run circles around the class even Nitro's...TMG didn't like the in-house competition...ever notice you never heard of them much? When I got mine I was on the pro staff and the Avalanche was supposed to be the next hot ticket...then they pulled the majority of the advertizing money and the boat was relegated to obscurity. I still weigh the options of re-powering vs upgrading to a new boat. Mine with a 175 Pro XS would run in the low 70's which would be plenty fast enough...especially for an aluminum boat.

thats beauty... i'd swear that was a glass boat! i have seen them in Red and in white- like yours. I think the 2nd console really sets it off well! The link i had posted was a red model... it looked to be a fine boat too...
Thanks for all of the other replies. I still think the Trackers are far more popular, which i dont understand because the numbers are almost the same .. 70mph in an aluminium boat? whoa!! thats moving right along!

Funny, those who i have spoken to since i found these all say the same thing "i wish i found this before i bought my tracker" not Nitro or that other high end expensive Tinny.

i also have one of these 2002 in a tan/ grey color.... ill try to get some pics up.... i like the fact its aluminum, and the price i paid for it.l.. but if i bought it next for what they were originally asking i would be mad..... the storage all leaks.... ive run some drains but they were all plugged with foam.... and it doesnt leak at the lid.... it leaks where the carpet meets the top cap..... ill seal it later this year when i replace the carpet

I'm actually considering selling it...I really don't want to, but I think I need an upgrade. I am still trying to figure out how to get my new Z-8 and keep this one...I think my wife is not so keen on the idea, but I have some wierd type of an affair going on with this boat and will be pretty sad if I turn her out.

I don't have it so bad, she is the one trying to get me to trade this one in on that new Z-8...I just haven't gotten to the point that I am ready to separate myself from what is the best boat I have ever owned...

Not too man avalanches around these days... what color is your again? i saw a beautiful red one for sale not too long ago and i also think i saw a yellow one too.

I do like it a lot. Mine is white and pretty much goes with anything. I have kind of switched gears since this post was started...I think I'm going to keep my boat and upgrade a few things...and to money I save is going into a new toy car.
