I have been hand pouring soft plastics for a few years now and I want to start dipping tubes.  I have a few questions. I currently use a Lee Plastic Production Pot.  Will this work for dipping? Also, do you need any special items besides a dipping rod and plastic splitter? Also, I know generally how the technique works, but I don't know the details to it so if someone can explain it more thoroughly, especially with pictures or video, I would really appreciate it.

Try Caney Creek Molds. They have actual tube molds. I had a local machine shop make me tube dippers. Its a piece of steel with 5 rods welded on it. I put the production tubes on the rods and hold the tails in place with bread tyes. Then i dip them and make what i need. Remember if you dip cold baits.: Plastic needs to be hot and well mixed (salt, glitter, ect.) Hold the tube in for 8-10 seconds on the first dip so the plastic bonds. Otherwise layers might peel on you. Experiment and have fun but be safe. 7 years at this now and i have seen nast accidents caused by haste, moisture and failure to prepare before you get started.
