Our club launched from Black Creek Lodge yesterday for our monthly tournament.  We had 10 participants and almost all reported a tough bite - weights back the reports up.  Another tournament same time had similar results.  Our club winner had 5 bass going 5.00 pounds.  The other club's winner had 3 bass going 4+ pounds. Our big bass weighed in at a whopping 1.30 pounds. I came in second with 4 bass going 4.46 pounds.  I soaked a worm most of the day for the bites I did get.  We did get a few mudfish and pickeral to bite which made fishing a little more exciting between bass bites.  There really was no pattern to the bites - no two fish came from the same vicinity. Rain greeted us in the afternoon and we sat under the bridge near the outpost in Black Creek until the down pour ceased.  Bring plenty of water and sun block - she's a hot one.  Tight lines! ~gf

It's those dog days of summer.  But 2nd is 2nd, no matter what the weight is.
Have a good one & thank GOD for it.
