Fished a club tourney this past Saturday. Found some awesome Fish on Thurday throwing some Senko's in the grass. Planned on fishing that area all day. Unfortunately the water turned muddy by Saturday and the plan had to change. Went to the spot first thin in the morning and caught a limit by 6:37 on shallow crank on the edge of the grass. The bite shut off when the tide stopped moving. Switched to my primary game plan and did not get a single bite. I decided to move when the tide got high. I went to some Lilly pads and started flipping a jig and slayed them!!! first cast culled a fish and them proceeded to cull the rest of my fish and was still catching them when i had to call it quits and head into the weigh in. total weight was 13.53 which was good for first place. I wish I would have moved sooner. Think I could have had at least 17 pounds. All in all a great day on the water.

Nice Geo, looks like you are doing quite well on the Potomac.   ~c~

Thanks guys. the Potomac is a real challenge. I have learned that you need to learn to fish the tides. A spot might have several hundred bass on it that won't bite until the tide starts to move. I have won several tournaments in less than an hour. Last fall I was fishing a spot I knew had quality fish in it and could not get a bite until 12:30 and in 45 minutes I caught all my fish and won the tourney. Amazing how the tide turns the fish on.

No doubt about that, but it sure can be hard to wait for the tide sometimes.  I get too impatient...   :'(

you and me both.   it's crazy how they can just turn on like a light switch.   I've had days that they hit constantly, and others where they'll turn on for 20 min, then stop for 2 hours, just to get another blast for 20 min.
