How many Smallmouth bass anglers use Sleeches while Smallmouth Bass Fishing during the season.
Either to fish them by dropshot or Carolina Rig them on to a 1/0 Gammie worm hook.

These baits can bring in big Smallies while ones Bed fishing.
Having that small profile bait makes it harder for the fish to be missed when you see that bait
get sucked back set the hook and shes on.

They work great in winter.
Have you guys had great experiences with them lets hear your thoughts thanks.

Sorry, but what are sleeches?

I think they are flys or jigs that Mimic leeches made out of black rabbit fur...

These are soft plastic Leeches about 3-4 inches in size that are very cool baits found in the WA area.
It's a brand that was very popular around 15 years back. Then went under and are now back in and hot baits.

There is a fly by that name, reportedly originated by a fellow named Tim Fox and is a good one for Smallmouths.

Not a big fan of reaper type baits, I have some & use them sometimes, but tend to cut the tails into strips & use them on a jighead. Bass & other species will certainly eat leech imitations. For me, being a fly & jig tier, I tend to use the type Dug mentioned, tied up with rabbit fur. No plastic has the slithering movement of real rabbit fur!  :)

Flys are awesome anytime yes and work just as good.
But I find that plastics work better while Smallmouth Bass fishing and at the depths and speed I want to fish at.
We also use Hellgrammites also the same way as Sleeches or any Reaper baits.
They work so well due to pressured waters where fish see everything and then you use baits like this and they have not seen them before and they hit it. It works well in tournaments when a day on the water is going not as planned. Many Wa State bass anglers will keep these types of baits in the bottom of their tackle boxes and bring them out to get back into the game if the day is not going as planned.

I use them in Osoyoos Lake on the WA state side and Canada side of the lake.
