Moving hinges on storage lids?

I have a 2010 pt170 bass tracker, the lids on my storage compartments open towards the front of the boat so when I open them while I'm up front all I see are the backs of the lids and I have to get up to access my stuff. I'd like to change the location of the hinges so they open out towards the sides of the boat. My intention is to put some tackle management on the bottoms of my lids. I looked at the hinges and the bottom half has a rolled edge that comes up from the deck. Can I cut or pull this off and reuse it or is the rolled edge a piece of the front deck? Would it be easier just to cut the hinge off and order some new ones? If anyone has done this I would greatly appreciate some advice!

Take the front deck off and the hinge is just tucked under and mounted using the same screws. So if you take out the screws where the hatch is the hinge and lid should slide out.
