I caught one in deep timber on 10" power worm (4.5#, full of eggs)
I caught 4 right on the bank (in 2-6" of water) with black Spro popper frog (3#, 2.5, 2, 2)
I caught one (2#) on a Heddon one knocker spook in frog pattern within 2 feet of bank
and one (2#) on a wacky rigged junebug senko along the rock jetty (NE)

Great report, thank you. Hard to imagine spawners this late in the season, it's 101 on my back porch Sounds like it's turned on well for you Enjoy and keep us posted

Regardless of what anyone says about this area (east NE, west Iowa, and NW MO), the spawn doesnt take place until the end of May and firt few weeks of June, and then there will be stragglers caught off beds until the end of June.  I have been on a couple different lakes over the last 2 weeks, and water temps are  68-73.  I have been catching decent females still loaded with eggs.  The post spawners are easy prey with a frog...

I agree...it's more than just about the water temps...it has a lot to do with photoperiodicity...

Hit Lawrence Johnson a week ago...similar story...but the weeds...curly leaf pondweed was trying to come on...but the Sago was everywhere...and man, that stuff is tough after a while...
