Got a knock on the door this morning and came out to see my neighbor holding a 7.6lb hog with a 1.5lb. crappie hung in its mouth. Said he had been out fishing in his boat and came up on it thrashing in the water close to shore. He went over and saw what was going on and picked it up. He then brought it back to the neighborhood to show his family, then me. Said he was going to mount it "as is" with the perch in the mouth. I told him about replica's and how much better they can look, plus the fish gets to live. I then asked if I could try and nurse it back to health. He said it had been out of the water for about 10 min., but we went down to the lake and went to work anyway. After about 20 min. of pushing water threw her gills, she was starting to fight with us. Pulled her up, got a quick legnth, girth, and weight, and released her alive and kicking. So glad he found her otherwise she would have died. Also glad he came to show me, otherwise she would have died again! Now we know there is at least one nice bass in Cypress!

LOL thats a pretty cool story all the way around.  Finding her, the crappie, bringing her to the neighborhood and getting her back in the water alive.  Be sure and post a picture of the replica! Good story... Thanks

The crappie was actually still alive as well. He kept it in a ice chest full of water and said he would let it go if he didn't some more to go with it. Bite was a little more tough today, so I predict that he let it go.
