I have a 2010 Skeeter zx190 DC w/ 150 v-max and I am having a little trouble dialing it in. The Slide Master jack plate(12" set back) has little dot indentions(indicators) on the side of the jack plate. Right now I have 4 dots showing(inside of plate 1" above outside). The center of my prop shaft is 4" below the pad of the boat. This is the setting that came from the factory. I have read alot of post that suggest that the prop shaft center should be 3" to 3.5" below the pad. Right now I can run straight at a pretty good clip but when I turn I get alot of blow out or cavitation. I am no where near the 60 mph that everyone else says they run. I have lowered the motor, about an inch, which made the turning alot better. I was wondering if anyone out there with a zx190 would mind sharing their numbers so that I can get some idea where I stand. Had many boats but this is my first with a jack plate. Thanks....................

I quoted your post so everyone could see it. Not sure if you were trying to put a picture in there or not but I took out the img tags as I couldn't find a image URL.

What kind and size prop are you running

Like your taste in boats. I have a zx190 with a 175 and std 23m prop. Get 60 no problem full or empty still only have 16hrs on motor. My jack plate shows 5 dimples showing, that's way it came and have had no reason to move it. Never had a blow out on a turn. Seems to turn like on rails can make a 90 degree turn at high speed no problem. Did you check if Jack plate and mt bolts are tight, someone moved it one dimple. Don't know how much difference one dimple (1/4 in) will make

I also have a 2011 zx190 with a 175 and just wanted to throw my two cents in. I talked to a bunch of people about this and did a lot of adjustments on my jackplate till i finally got it adjusted to what I think is the best I'm gonna get out of it. What I ended up with is the difference between the top of the jackplate is 1 and 3/8 inch up, which put my shaft aprox. 3" below the pad. It gets on a plane quick, turns on a dime with no sliding around tight corners and I am getting by myself in the boat 68 to 69mph and with two people in the boat 64 to 65mph at 5800rpm. hope this helps and I think the best thing you can do is play with it and find out what works best with your setup.

my apology I wrote the measurement down wrong the difference between the top of my jackplate is actually 1 and 3/4"

Thanks for the reply. With my motor that high, the motor feels like its catching a little air, kinda feels like a transmission that is slipping a little. I went down with it and it felt better at w.o.t. I called skeeter for their recomendation and was told "what ever is comfortable to you". Guess I'll keep all these ideas in mind and keep experimenting. Thanks....................

POPR,
I would keep coming up until your water pressure started dropping at WOT to 15ish. If you are above 15, you are good. Either your pressure will drop too low or you will lose performance.
