looks fun. hahah well not really. hahah

I replaced all the carpet in my boat about a year ago and had it all torn down almost as far as you have. its a hard job.
I like the idea of no carpet.
I think next time I will not be redoing my carpet, ill just fiberglass, rinoline, or that stuff you got instead.

keep up the good work.

Definitely a love / hate project. Thanks for the encouragement.

Only took 4 hours to fabricate, weld, and install the poling platform.

Hey JP, I don't want to sound stupid (but probably will, but what the heck), but what is the function of that poling platform  :-\

No problem BK. Its for push poling your boat accross shallow water flats without spooking the fish. Also provides better vision for sight casting long distances.

Some better pics.

Also, a special thanks to Tom and Mark at Complete Aluminum, Inc.. Without thier help and generosity this platform would not have happened. Awesome work guys!

Took all day but finally got the steering armature installed and the lines run up to the helm. Tomorrow will be hooking up the helm and filling the system with hydraulic fluid.

Thanks guys! A lot of hard work.

Finished the small details at 1:30am Saturday morning, got 3 hours of sleep, and at 6:30am was leaving the ramp for the first redfish tournament of the year.

Boat performed excellent, even taking on 3'-4' rollers due to a stiff north wind. No problems, no issues.

New to the Forum.
Been lurking as a non-member while I learn about the PT 175.
Just bought a lightly used 1998 model for a surprise college gift to one of my sons.
His first boat. (My first boat to own too, for that matter)
Would like him to learn about boat ownership and Baffin Bay water (where he fishes 4 times a week lol)before I get him the boat I really want him to have.

Having said all that, this thread REQUIRED me to make my first post. (Forgive me for reviving it)

If this little PT 175 I got was converted to the Flats machine you created, it would be my kids first AND second boat!  LOL

Amazing!

Your son should have a blast. Thank you for the compliments. Reviving this thread helps generate new interest in TRACKER, so all is good.
