I had to look at that white crappie a second time to realize that the pectoral if was painted on and not a true appendage.  And that citrus shad looks like he's looking for a fight.  :)

although I have a wood lathe and can turn some nice shapes for topwater, I can't come close to the finish you do. I hope to learn how to achieve a finish like that. Great job.

The lips are made of 1/16" lexan from US Plastics.  I trace the lip outline on the lexan, use metal shears to rough-cut the bill, and grind it to final shape using a dremel tool.

Woodnut, if you want better finishes on your lures, this tutorial will help:  Trying to Achieve a Flawless Finish.   The guy that wrote that builds muskie lures, and the finishes on his lures are amazing.
