Santa was pretty nice to Ole BassThumb.  He got lots of plastics and bulk hooks.  Got some Suspenders (TM) brand type V PFDs, and all new things for new boat (deck lines, paddle, weigh bag, culling system, pliers, etc).  Ole Santa even brought me an Esox custom built baitcaster.

Picked up a few hunting items to...fleece pullover and a handwarmer...

Hey Jav..., have you configured your outboard to burn all that coal you got...?   LoL!

What did Santa bring you?

Coal??  Well, at least I have upgraded from my previous lawn mower engine you stated earlier.  ~c~   You betcha!!  Probably even run circles around your rice burning Yamahahahahahahaha.

Looks like Santa was unaware of your fish catching abilities with some of your gifts.  I guess he should have read some of your posts/reports and he would have seen the culling system and weigh bags were not needed!!   ;D

Do not be picking on Yamaha.  They will run longer than your Mercury without any malfunctions.  They were also rated with the best customer satisfaction for 2005.  I for one will probably never go back to Mercury, they are just too gosh darn expensive to maintain.   On the subject of Santa and Bass Thumb, I do need a new weigh bag  ~gf!

Settle down Bob.  Bassthumb and I just razz each other a little.  He says mine is a briggs and stratton or a coal burner and so on, back and forth we go.
My motor is an Evinrude....no Mercury here.  I did watch the E-tec challenge the other day....Yamaha, Mercury Verado and Evinrude E Tec, same boat set up for a 2 mile run.  The E-tec walked em pretty bad.  That is just my .02.  I will stick with Evinrude for now and E-tec in the future.

I've heard a lot of good things about the new Evinrudes and Johnsons, time will tell.  We all know about your Briggs.  A least this one is staying together for you.  We've both been on the other end with motors in the shop that can't be repaired.  My old Opti just about put me in the poor house.

The weigh bag is used to carry soda to the boat.  And the culling system I clip on my clippers and pliers so the little ball floats when I drop them overboard.
