For those who have problems with line twist on there spinning reels, heres what I do to curb
the problem. After adding new line by spooling it the same way it comes of the spool of
line. I take the rod and reel out side and I pull adout 100 feet of line off the reel, then let it lay on the ground, then by putting a little pressure on the line with fingers I wind the reel back up, this takes all the twist out. you will have less trouble casting and dealing with the twist.

Yep, that works every time.  If I have a reel that the line twist is bad when I'm out fishing I flip the bail and let out line behind the boat without anything tied on when we move to another spot then reel it back in.  That helps as well.  Ron
Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?

Or, switch to braid with a leader. LOL. Sorry, had to.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

Closing the bail by hand will drastically reduce line twist.

To help keep it out is when a fish is pulling drag to quit reeling. Reeling while fish is pulling drag does nothing but put twists in line for you.

I like to tie on a 1/2 oz sinker after spooling my spinning reels and cast the line out as far as possible, reel it back in with fingers squeezing the line, problem solved. : ) The water helps , imo.

This is one of my best ways of reducing the twists.  The other is drag  the line behind the boat for awhile with no lure and it will pull out all twists.

Someone explain how closing the bail by hand alone will do anything about line twist. If you close the bail by hand AND make sure there are no loose loops of line by the spool, you will prevent a birds nest or wind knot from forming on your next cast. But it cannot prevent line twist. ALL spinning reels will twist line. If you put the line on correctly, you won't start with twisted line but casting and retrieving lures on a spinning reel twists line. Pull the line off with a cast one way and wind it back another and the line will twist. Small thin spools will twist the line faster because of more wraps than fatter spools which require fewer turns of the line pick up. You can reduce the effects of line twist by removing the twists as stated by letting the line out with no lure while slowly trolling and winding it back in holding the line between your fingers or by using braided lines which will still twist but but don't show it as easily as mono or fluoro.
