I went out for a bit today ...launch at Grecies ...totally skunked...

I mean I didn't even get a bite....fished spinner, worms, jigs, traps....nothing...fished up and down what I think is called the Ski Run, Mud Slough, and Little Red Shute.......Think I'll be trailering back to Plum Orchard for my tournament...

NOTE: Meant to say Gar Slough...not Mud Slough above...

Water is up a little from when I was there a few weeks back but not a whole lot...water was pretty clear with the normal Bistineau stain...no idea on water temps..

Is he the one with "fishing for a reason" on his boat? If so yep been at the ramp all the time.

Water temps are running 65 in the morning to 69-72 in the afternoon depending on where you are on the lake.

Boated 8 yesterday, 2 on a 2.5 LC crank, 3 on a spinnerbait and the rest came on jigs just had to cover a bunch of water to find them all, biggest yesterday was 3.68 on a jig

Yep....help put him in the water as I was leaving Thursday at Gricies...said he didn't do any good out of Plum Orchard Wednesday..

Saturday a few of us are headed out to Bistineau to do some prefishing if anyone want to join us let me know and we can decide on a meeting spot. Hope to put something together. We will launch out of plum orchard.

So just to verify.... Which launch are we using? And what time?

Ive havent fished this lake since I was a kid! So I can launch a big boat in there ? The boat rows are ok to run? or should I keep it at a slower speed?

We are launching at plum orchard and I will be there around 530. As far as running I would get the low down on that from Ron tomorrow morning before launch. Ron has also been launching a 21ft boat out there as well

Stay just left of center on the way out of plum to the main lake with motor trimmed up a bit, at main lake you can run left or right stay center and do not cut corners on the points. Running south "right" follow the two boat row markers and stay of the tree point if you are going to run to the rock on the ski run; I have not ran past the rock so anything after that is unknown to me. If you run south in the boat row you can run all the way to Greg Lake but I have not run Greg so again all of that is unknown to me. Again make sure you stay center as best as you can and don't cut the points or turns, about 100 yards before the left turn into Greg there are a couple trees out in the boat row, keep them to your right as you see them and use that as your guide to center your boat between the open water and all the trees on your left.

Running north to the left outside of plum stay center through the first little s turn, than it's a left turn and looks like mostly open water with trees to your left and scattered trees to your right, stay left of center, sweeps to the right a bit and there is a cut in front of you between the trees, this is the area that on the right bank there is a beach and big boat dock about 150 yards before this opening it's full of stumps, some big some little stay on full pad to make the left turn you have to take after the opening or idle if you plow water there you will hit stuff. After the opening as I said you must turn left, when the water is up you used to be able to run out a bit and sweep left and take the cut next to the house built right on the back up on concrete stilts do not try that now.

You can run north to the cut to crows foot, the first cut to your right going to the park, you can run all the way back to the 4 way, if you want to head farther north you can run to the Port-O-Bistineau cut "2nd cut on the right on the way to the park" and run that all the way to the port but make sure you take a left at the fallen down boat house rather than run the small cut along the bank,,, again make sure you turn left and go around the tree island to the port. After you pass the port I set down, there are stumps to the left of the small tree island and some stumps out in the boat row from the bank, I see folks run it but I just down, I've see what it looks like when the water is down and it hasn't come up enough yet to give me a warm fuzzy.

If you want to run to the park I would set down shortly after passing the cut to the port, the open water going to the cut in the trees to the park is mostly open but the cut in the trees is filled with stumps a few yards or so this side of the cut before you get to it and there are a bunch in the boat row once you are in the cut for about half way inside the trees until the row curves to the right.

Any short cuts or shallow areas anyone used to run are dry or will hold potential dangers as the lake is still a good 3.5 to 4 foot low or more.

Best bet is to just follow John he is the only one that has caught so many big fish it warranted phone calls/texts to brag about it.

I'll skip my next Over 50 and son and I will join y'all on Cross....Think that's labor day weekend so might get a little crowded out there....just hope that movie crew is gone by then cause they had taken up all the east side of the launch...
