The Bass Club had planned to fish the Potomac this weekend but with rain all day we changed to Piney Run in Carroll County.  Since this is the lake in the County where where most of us live I thought we should do well.  In my Old Skool way I have never tried some of the "new" presentations like dropshotting or wacky worms.  So I decided today would be the time since I recently bought the hooks, o-rings and tube.
It was a light mist this morning when we launched and I used my boat solo today.  I headed down lake toward the dam area and everyone else in the Club headed up lake.  Water temp was 60 degrees in most of the lake according to my Garmins.  Water was clear, light winds and some gusts to ten mph or so. Pattern for me today was blowdowns with lily pads close in shallow water.  I used three different color senko style worms brown with no flake (1), green with black flake (1) and green watermelon with black flake (17).   I caught a total of 19 largemouth, dink to almost 15".   BTW, I also used a crayfish in the lily pads and a Ned rig in areas that normally provide with no results.  This is the most fun I have had on Piney Run since I caught the six pounder there last year.
My Frog Togs kept me dry and air temp was in the high fifties.

Congratulations!  Sounds like a good day for sure.  And how did the others do?

At the Aftertalk it looks like I caught the most fish but others caught bigger fish.  There was one other Member who caught 12.  Largest listed was 18.5 inches to my 13.75 largest.  I think the least number caught was 2.
We are a paper club.  Catch it, measure it, release it and write it down.  This is usually confirmed by the other fisherman in the boat.  Your largest five are your bag.
I am happy that I had a good showing for my first Club Tournament with this Club.  Five of these guys I used to fish with in Clubs over 20 years ago.
I'm happy, thanks for asking.

That sounded like a good day for just about everybody.  I like paper trournies amongst friends.  We did that where I worked in FL, kind like the Florida guys are doing here.  We would submit our creel sheet to a guy and he would tally them up, then get razzed for a week after he posted the results.

The Tournament Director did all the calculations right at the Park before the Aftertalk.  We know who won because the Winner gets $2.00 from each Club Competitor.  The Competitor with the Big Bass also gets $2.00 from each of us.  This time it was actually the same person.
I am happy with my performance and think I might be in third for my first tournament back with this Club.  Next Tournament is at a place I have not fished before, Black Hills.  I believe it is Seneca Lake over in the Rockville/Gaithersburg area of Maryland.  Everybody seems to be hung on blue fleck worms for here and I will get some just to have them.  May not use them but can't if I don't have them.  I have also been given the suggestion for Reaction Innovations Skinny Dippers, I am also going to pick up some of them.
We will see and let ya'll know.
