Mine has got to be Lake Waccamaw.  Shallow, shallow fishing and the only people that really bass fish out there stay deep and fish off shore.  Suites me just fine.  That place fits my style of fishing so well, just wish it was a little closer.  Hate driving over an hour to fish anywhere.
Life's short, fish hard.

I'll go with Jordan...but it is the only lake in NC that I've fished. Only other bass fishing has been done aboard base ponds on Camp Lejeune.

Lake Sutton in Wilmington, power plant lake, early spring and early fall.  All types of fishing great tournament lake to get you ready for lake fishing.  Drop offs, ledges, cover, vegetation.  Bad parts, floating logs, so cant go wide open.  Different part of the lake offers different types of fishing, very clear lake, drop shotting works great, and finesse the heck out of them.  Swimbaits work too.....

I like Norman but I am biased because I live on it.  It's NC's largest lake and is arguably the toughest to pattern since the fish move so much.  Not really known as a "big fish factory" but can put out some very nice 6lb+ fish with regularity if you can find them.

It's big, complicated, gets a ton of pressure, and just all around tough which makes it a daily challenge to get out and be productive on.  For that reason I like it.   If I had to say most fun fishery to fish that has also has some really big fish in it I would say the Chowan River.  That place is another world in and of itself and really must be seen to admire how great it is.

Lake Norman no question this is the fastest growing area on the East Coast. The reason once you get here you can't leave all the roads are clogged and blocked lo lo lo lo lo  We even got a toll lane being added to I-77 that nobody wanted or locals will use. Ask the past governor, cost him the election lo lo lo lo sure nuff Lake Norman is the place to be lots of fish and some of the best landing in the state and free to all. The problem is getting here and leaving.  Here in the Carolina's we do have some of the best fishing year round of any place in the USA, water does not get hard and can fish 365 ~c~  I love and always loved the Chowan from the first time I layed eyes on in back in the 70's ~c~ Lately it has seen some tuff times the hurricanes and the hog farms dike breaking build next to the river so it would. :'( but headed back town end of this month for a few days with some of the old road trip crew :shocking: So watch out for those mean mough very black bass, snakes and please no mud fish lo lo Hoping Cannons Ferry landing is still OK that's the area we like. How about some reports.

I would say Hyco. Awesome in winter and good in summer.
Great lake to fish slickchilt.  I use to fish the lake I believe three or four times a week and I live in G'boro.  I stopped though when Duke energy came in and told the lake authorities they were to raise the launch fees both daily and annual.  Now I go to either The After Bay(between Hyco and Mayo) or Mayo Res.
