Okay now I'm confused....

I made a post earlier today and it was moved into a whole different Thread. Any reason why? I could understand if it was in the wrong Forum, but I thought the Dock Talk was for talking about anything not relatedd to boats. Alot of members don't go to every thread made and this would tend to get threads mixed up and lost. Not trying to ruffle feathers but I spent 20 minutes looking for a thread I made and finally found it somewhere, that I don't normally go. If the threads are to be moved cause we did something wrong by posting it somewhere, shouldn't we get a PM or something letting us know we goofed?.... If you lump all similiar threads together it makes for a harder to navigate board...Just some thoughts. Sorry if I posted it in the wrong area.

Bill you should always get a PM if your post is moved and if you didn't them the staff is slacking.

Let me see who moved it on you and where it went and I might be able to get to the bottom of this...

Normally, when posts are moved, there is a PM sent & a "Moved" notice left in the original locations place with a link to the new location. Not sure about your post at the moment, I have been out most of the day.

Can you tell me what post it is & where it is now?

We try not to move posts if we don't have to but sometimes they are better off being located on a different board. I can't comment on yours at the moment not knowing what it was but will be glad to see what we can find out about it.

It was the catch of the day post that he made. Not sure what the topic was originally but I found who moved it and will send you a PM on it BA since you are in charge of the mods

Hey Guys... I'm definately not trying to cause a ruckus.....I just posted a pic with some quetions to some other guys that were out fishing today with Bigcheese and I and I came back to look for their responses and the Post was gone...I found it in the "catch of the Day" post. I can understand moving posts to other Forums if they don't belong in Dock Talk, I just don't understand why you'd want to keep your thread count down by lumping threads together. Does that make sense??

I really think that we have a lot to learn, not only from the new members like yourself that have joined us with some experiance but about moderation as well. I for one love to see new threads start and the more the better in my opinion.

My personal goal is to see the forum hit 500,000 posts. That is what it takes to get on "Big Boards". It is somewhat of a privelage to have your board listed there.

The concept of a forum as opposed to message boards is that you start a thread and as long as it is active it stays on the first few pages for everyone to see. Once the thread isn't being used it falls back to pages to be searched at a later date.

Okay so now I'm even more confused... I shouldn't have made the post?  I should have just put it under Catch of the day?... How would the others have seen it if they didn't go into that particular thread?....I was trying to keep up with some of the bigger threads but it's just to hard, the topic is constantly changing in those threads. Wouldn't it make for a more "robust" Forum if the threads were just about one subject? Lord, this is too confusing and it's too late to start

no no no that isn't what I meant. I meant that you should be able to start your own thread! Most defiantly start your own thread. I wouldn't want my great day on the water post or questions lumped in with another thread! I would want my own thread. I was trying to say that you have a valid point...

JMO.......But when i got on the boards this morning...It looks like things have been cleaned up........I have and still have problems with the boards and navigating problems.......

Hopefully this is a trend and will  continue.......I myself didnt like a thread Good morning that was so long........People will post more if each thread is its own and the boards will be more active.......Chit chat was the same way....insread of going on there just start a new thread about whatever your subject may be......This will get more people invloved with a good title heading.......Remember JMO......
