New to boating and fishing...I need a basic fish finder with maybe GPS...What do you recommend?

What are you going to put it on and how much do you want to spend? Might help us steer you in the right direction. ;)

Budget will help alot...but I would take a good look at the Humminbird 300, 500 or 700 Series they offer Dual Beam Sonar Units with GPS Mapping in color or Monochrome screens and a wide variety of pricing. www.humminbird.com

Just purchased a 2002 Nitro 750 NX and I dont want to spend alot of money on a fish finder....$200.00 or less....$100. or less would be even better.  Thanks for your help.

$200 to get Sonar and GPS limits the selection. The closest thing in that price range is the 365i - Momochrome, Internal GPS and Dual Beam Sonar. MSRP  $299 http://store.humminbird.com/products/307117/365i_Combo

Bare bones, less than $100, can't beat an Eagle Cuda. Had 2 on my old boat for this very reason. No GPS or color, just a basic sonar that performed relatively well for the $$. Just my $.02

The recently released Lowrance Mark 5X might be of interest (monochrome, sonar only).  View at Bass Pro Shops below for $160.
