HELP Shift cable on a 93 Nitro

 ~xyzCan anyone tell me how to change the shift cable on my 17 ft 93 Nitro. Need to get the hidden control box out but not having any luck.Followed directions in service manual but that don't work. HELP!! :'(

I haven't done this in a long time so things could have changed, but the 1st thing you need to do is pull out the throttle neutral switch. Than the face place over the shift box, have to pull off the shift lever push the neck of the box through the boat and grab it up under the console, if you have enough cable you can pull it forward and work on the cables, if not you need to tie a rope to it and pull it out the back of the boat; rope is needed to pull it back forward once you are done.

The neutral switch is a bitch, it's just snapped in and needs to be pulled out but one must be careful not to bust off any of the plastic tabs on the back of the knob or it won't snap back into place and you will have to get a new one.

Fixed it myself with out any help from our local Bass Pro shop even though it there product and they did't want to service it because it was omc tracker powered. ~rant
