If you are a tackle freak like me and like to buy all the newest lures, baits, tackle there is out there on the market, than one way of saving money is by buying the most inexpensive tackle that you can find. I feel that these cheaper tackle may not look better than the more expensive ones, but I am sure that they will catch bass. My brother is someone who likes to buy all the expensive stuff and he catches about the same amount of fish as me. I bought a 99 cent jig from a local tackle shop and was able to catch my personal best fish so far on it, a 6lb 8oz. So next time when you go to the store or look online, instead of looking at the new stuff that just came in, go to the "SALE" section and look at whats for sale.

Good point Bass-noob.  I also buy a lot of high end lures nearly half price by waiting until the end of year close outs at the major retailers.  The Northern states are best for bass stuff, i guess because there are areas where bass is second or third fiddle to pike and walleye.  However the big retailers usually get all the good stuff like the others, and when it dont sell they mark it down.  There loss is my gain.
