Posted earlier about using PVC for a rod case well I have another useful tip..When I go surf fishing I always had a problem figuring out how to hold my rods when I was chunking....  I use PVC pipe now!! again the same 1 1/2 PVC pipe. cut in 36 inch pieces, Only at one end cut with a hack saw on an angle so it is easier to get in the sand, You can cut another piece 2 feet long to use to pound the pipe in the sand or you can push them into the sand by hand... then you set the butt end of your rod in the end and your fishing,,, Total cost 4 bucks....
