Was fishing a small tourny last night and put the tm on about 80% to speed to the other side of the cove, switched it back down to 50% and started fishing and about a min later the pedal starts smoking and the trolling motor only runs on high now and smokes...any help on what i can do to get back on the water...weidner21

Sounds like the speed control dial (switch) has started to short out and soon it won't work on high either. Since it was smoking it was getting very hot and probably burnt the wires going to it. I'd replace the switch before I hit the water again.

Yep. Unplug the motor and remove the bottom steel plate. The 2 larger screws  hold the speed control to the plate for heat transfer. That will probably be the part that's burnt. You might find some wiring that needs replacing too.

Well i went outside and looked it over and the speed control wire shorted out and also burnt a hole pretty deep in my control board. Does anyone know where i can get a new control board at...Only one i have found is for a digital which is 200...anywhere to find one cheaper?

Go to the MK site and you should be able to find a list of dealers and repair shops, might get lucky and have one close by. There is also a web site called trollingmotorparts.com (something like that, google will find it)
