a use for my old cranks

i am a little brutal on some of my cranks. i fish alot of rocks and cover so they get beat up pretty easily. so after i salvage to hooks (if i can)
i keep the crank so i can tie it on for testing out a reel i have worked on or cleaned or even to get used to a new reel in the back yard. or maybe practice some flippin in the house

Flipping in the house appeared to be good until I loosened the spool to much, flipped, backlashed and hit the kid  I have a nice 30' stretch from the kitchen straight down the hall to the living room.

It could also be a great time to start painting custom paint jobs on your old lures

Yep just Painted up two of my clunkers put new Red Trebles this Morning.

i get alot of "repaint" business....if it runs true, get it repainted! slap some new hooks on it and your recycled bait is brand new.

Take the treble hooks off and use them to teach those new to our sport how to tie a good knot.

In the middle of Winter when Cabin fever is at it's worst is a great time to get out all the old banged up baits and repaint them. It's definitely not as good as actully fishing but it beats reoprganizing the tackle boxes for the umpteenth time.
