Fishfinder tranducer transom mount

I have 2001 Nitro 700LX I got a fish fhinder and was going to have it mounted on the transom. The guy who was going to install it for me said it can not be done due to the shape of the hull there is really no good way to mount it. IS this true? ANyone have one mounted on thet ransom and  if so can you send pic showing where?
