Ok, the title says it all. Nitro Z-7 with 150 Mercury opti. I trim motor all the way down and nail it. It wont plane out. Stays in the hole forever. Only thing I can figure is I may need a tune up or maybe my live wells were completely full? Picking your brains guys. Have never had this problem in the past.

not sure,  my motor was running alittle funny last year and I changed the sparkplugs and the fuel filter and it seemed to help.  Also make sure that a spark plug wire didn't come off.

my 640 did that a few years back, had one plug messed up was all it was but it could be a bunch of things

If the motor isn't running the same look at the easy stuff 1st, wires, plugs, fuel filter, fuel lines, fuel bulb  if the motor is running the same than check your prop for dings/nicks and unload your boat I am amazed each year when I clean out my boat just how much extra chit has found it's way in and stayed  LOL

I have a 2008 Z-7 but have the 175 Pro XS, and I can tell you with the livewells full it makes a big difference in getting on plane.  I went to a 4 blade Trophy Plus prop on my boat, the hole shot is much better than with the Tempest, you loose some on the top end speed, but I can live with that.  Might not hurt to post a few more details so one of these gurus can help!!  Between here and other boards I have learned a lot.

Good luck.

maybe you should trade the 150 in on a new 200proxs and see what happens.  A Z7 is a rocket ship when its at its max HP.

Was this issue always there? What size prop is on it? Don't do anything extravagant, Z7 runs well with a 150, probably just a setup issue. If you have had the boat for a while and never had the issue before, then it is probably something with the motor. If not, probably just needs to be set up correctly. Should have a 23p or maybe 24p tempest on there.
