In the last couple of weeks we received a lot of rain. The river jumped from 4.87' to over 9' in a short time. Its high and muddy but with all the rain the largemouth have moved up and are continuing their fall feed. Sunny afternoons will find them tight to the bank and they can be caught on most anything that you can work slow. I had most of my luck on a Cotton Candy Vibrashock slow rolled just off the bottom.

On another note, the fall walleye bite was just heating up before the sudden rise in water. Now that its beginning to drop you should be able to start picking them up again in the tail waters and along the dikes that line the river. Crankbaits and Dubuque rigs have been producing well. Once the river gets back to normal pool wingdams should be a good place to pick up a limit of keepers.

Hey Karl,

is that a 4 inch blue pearl salt and pepper kalin's?

Dug
In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.
