A little thing that I like to do in the winter is spray a little bit of Pam cooking spray on my line giudes to keep the ice from building up.
And one other thing i like to do is take a couple of small Streno heating cans(camping section) to light when the fingers get really cold and to melt plastics together  ~c~

Great ideas jwfflipper  :-* :-*

It's cold here today and I am going fishing for a few hours, so I may have to try the oil in my guides idea  ~c~

Another thing i have seen people do with Pam and it works,, here in the south we have love bugs that get all over your car or truck, they stick and the acid in there body eats your paint, chrome or whatever they stick to,, spray the Pam on a cloth and wipe a film over the areas you want to protect from the love bugs,, nowhere as many will stick on and they will rinse right off.

Never thought about that, but I can see that working!  Great tip!   ~c~

I use to use the pam garlic spray on my baits until they stopped make it?

coldfront

thing is:  make sure it's the cooking spray and not the baking spray (which does contain flour particles)...

as for the garlic Pam...it was a simple business decision based on units sold...although, as an employee of the parent company (ConAgra Foods) I DID point out to the marketing folks the 'out of the box' uses that the product was enjoying...

guess those 'foodies' don't quite 'get' fishing.  Gonna have to take 'em out after the green trout this summer I guess... lo

Great Idea.  Thanks for the tips.
