We just had a club tourney in freezing rain and a good portion of the club did not have waterproof shoes.  You don't have to spend a mint to get goretex boots.  All you need are rubber knee boots that can be bought from Walmart for $20.

Excellent tip....but thanks to the good ole Air Force, I have a pair of Gortex boots that I wear when I head out to the lake and do some bank fishing.  They come in handy when it is muddy

Great tip!  Last year I got caught on 2nd tourney day in bad storm without waterproof shoes, Ran to the store that morning and bought trash bags!  LOL, it worked but didn't make it the entire day.  Your ideas are so much better.

I bought a nice pair of Lacrosse Alpha Lite Insulated Neoprene boots the other year.  They run around 90 bucks regular, picked them up during hunting offseason for 50 percent off.  They are awesome for fishing any time it rains, and great for duck hunting.  I'd suggest checking them out for anyone in need of waterproof boots! ~rain
