FEDS TO 60 MILLION AMERICAN ANGLERS:
WE DON'T NEED YOU

IRVINE, Calif. USA – October 5, 2009 – A recently published administration document outlines a structure that could result in closures of sport fishing in salt and freshwater areas across America. The White House created an Interagency Oceans Policy Task Force in June and gave them only 90 days to develop a comprehensive federal policy for all U.S. coastal, ocean and Great Lakes waters. Under the guise of 'protecting' these areas, the current second phase of the Task Force direction is to develop zoning which may permanently close vast areas of fishing waters nationwide. This is to be completed by December 9, 2009.

Dave Pfeiffer, President of Shimano American Corporation explained, "In spite of extensive submissions from the recreational fishing community to the Task Force in person and in writing, they failed to include any mention of the over one million jobs or the 6o million anglers which may be affected by the new policies coast to coast. Input from the environmental groups who want to put us off the water was adopted into the report verbatim – the key points we submitted as an industry were ignored."

Recreational fishing generates a $125 billion annual economy in the United States and supports jobs in every state according to government figures. Through the Sport Fish Restoration program, anglers have provided more than $5 billion through excise taxes on fishing tackle to fishery conservation and education for decades.
In addition to the economic aspects, anglers lead the nation in volunteer conservation efforts on behalf of improving fish habitat, water quality and related environmental areas. "There was no mention of the fishery conservation efforts which anglers have led for over 50 years in every state – an environmental success story that has no equal in the world", said Phil Morlock, Director, Environmental Affairs for Shimano. "The Task Force did not make any distinction between the dramatic differences between harmful commercial fishing harvest methods and recreational fishing, even though we spelled it out for them in detail," added Morlock.
Claiming to be the result of a public consultation process the report states, "Having considered a broad range of public comments, this report reflects the requests and concerns of all interested parties."
The original White House memo and not surprisingly the Task Force report contains multiple references to developing a national policy where Great Lakes and coastal regions are managed, "consistent with international law, including customary international law as reflected in the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea" - a 300-page treaty the U.S. has never ratified.
"We question what implications there will be for state authority and jurisdiction in the Great Lakes and coastal regions if the U.S. adopts the U.N. Treaty," said Pfeiffer.
The report makes it clear that future authority for implementing the policy for coastal and inland waters will fall under White House jurisdiction with a new National Ocean Council comprised of over 20 federal agencies at Cabinet Secretary or Deputy Secretary level. No reference to Congressional jurisdiction is indicated.
"This significant change in U.S. policy direction is the result of a 90-day fire drill process as ordered by the President that, not surprisingly, lacks balance, clarity and quality in the end product," said Morlock. "People who simply want to take their kids fishing on public waters deserve better from their government," he added.
Shimano is joining with other members of the recreational fishing industry to urge anglers to contact their members of Congress and the administration to request this process be required to adopt the economic, conservation and social contributions of recreational fishing as key elements of the policy. It is critical that we ensure Congressional oversight and state jurisdiction and management continues.
E-letters can be sent to the administration and members of Congress by visiting KeepAmericaFishing.org. The future of fishing is in your hands.

Obama 'Regulatory Czar' has Secret Animal-Rights Agenda, Says Consumer
Group

Cass Sunstein supports outlawing hunting, phasing out meat eating,
giving animals the right to file lawsuits; expert available for
comment Animal Rights: Current Debates and New Directions

Washington, D.C. (Vocus/PRWeb) January 15, 2009 -- The nonprofit
Center for Consumer Freedom said today that Cass Sunstein, the Harvard
University Law School professor tapped by President-elect Obama to
head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, has a secret
aim to push a radical animal-rights agenda in the White House.
Sunstein supports outlawing sport hunting, giving animals the legal
right to file lawsuits, and using government regulations to phase out
meat consumption.

In a 2007 speech at Harvard University, Sunstein argued in favor of
entirely " eliminating current practices such as ? meat eating." He
also proposed: "We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn't a
purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It's
time now."

Sunstein wrote in his 2004 book "Animal Rights: Current Debates and
New Directions" that "animals should be permitted to bring suit, with
human beings as their representatives ? Any animals that are entitled
to bring suit would be represented by (human) counsel, who would owe
guardian-like obligations and make decisions, subject to those
obligations, on their clients' behalf."

The Center for Consumer Freedom's Director of Research, David
Martosko, is available to discuss Cass Sunstein's likely impact on
typical elements of American life that involve the use of animals.
Sunstein's work could spell the end of animal agriculture, retail
sales of meat and dairy foods, hunting and fishing, biomedical
research, pet ownership, zoos and aquariums, traveling circuses, and
countless other things Americans take for granted.

Mr. Martosko said: "Cass Sunstein owes Americans an honest appraisal
of his animal rights agenda as America's top regulator. Americans
don't realize that the next four years could be full of bizarre
initiatives plucked from the wildest dreams of the animal-rights
fringe. Think about every outrageous idea PETA and the Humane Society
of the United States have ever had, and imagine them all having the
force of federal law. This doesn't look good for hunters, ranchers,
restaurateurs, biomedical researchers, or ordinary pet owners."

For an interview with Mr. Martosko about how Cass Sunstein's
appointment will serve the radical animal rights movement's agenda in
the White House, or for more information, contact Sarah Kapenstein at

HERE'S PAGE TWO
I knew about the Bilderberg group, the Trilaterals and the CFR through various documentaries over the years but never realized how pervasive their influence really was. This video, which I haven't seen before, ties them all together and puts a comprehensive perspective on their global goals. Like a giant octopus their tentacles are into every phase of global life. It is frightening. It won't matter much to me as an individual, I'm 66 years old and have lived a full life. It is my children and grandchildren I'm most concerned about. My biggest worry lies in our school systems. Although they may be idealistically motivated, their indoctrination of our children will make them more susceptible to accept the Bilderberg agendas until it is too late. I call our school system the 'American Madrassas'. History and cultural curricula are being revised to put the USA in a bad light so that they will more readily accept the socialist oligarchy. After all, if our country is evil, then it is OK to accept the change. Even to work for it. As can easily be seen with the gushing worship of Obama, whose most ardent supporters are young Americans recently out of the indoctrinating school system. There is also the main stream media, who I refer to as the 'yellow stream media', ( you can take that as yellow journalism or the color of urine. Either way, its just as bad.), that are aiding and abetting this covert take over by failing to inform the public. Investigative journalism has gone out the window and they refuse to cover any news that would be detrimental to the cause. In fact when opposition rears its head they belittle it by using descriptions such as: racist, angry mobs, Nazis, astroturf, etc. Although these terms may have been used by people outside the media by our elected politicians and Hollywood celebs, the media is complicit by not calling them to task on these erroneous and inflammatory accusations, thereby, perpetrating a cover-up.

Another wierd and disturbing choice. I didn't think Obama would allow those with an anti-outdoors agenda to move so quickly, but feel more and more every day like I ought to go out and get as many guns and rods as I can because they are going to be illegal soon.

I went and looked up this Susstein cat's confirmation vote (09/10/09). It was not a party line sail-through and in fact the nomination was held up twice. Interesting to see who voted yea or nay. Jim Webb was one of a handful of D voting against, and there were a handful of Rs voting yea, including Richard Lugar and Orrin Hatch.

This kind of guy belongs where he was, in academia, throwing out red herrings for people to think about, not making actual policy that real people have to live by.

I guess now all we can do is pray that he is like Tim Kaine who hasn't let his personal feelings on the death penalty get in the way of carrying out the laws of the Commonwealth

Pop I wish more people were paying attention ..... by the time enough wake up it may be to late.

Sorta like giving Obama the Nobel for something he might do, makes a mockery of the past and future prizes.

If that happens I will move to Mexico and take my chances with the drug cartels, kidnappers, and killers...might be safer.
