Freedom Bass Anglers supported the Maryland DNR Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs program this year at Harford Glen and Eden Mill. We provided 108 dozen worms and bags of plastics for use at the two locations. We received the following letter from DNR:

14 September 2009

Mr. Brian McNamara
Youth Director
Freedom Bass Anglers

Dear Mr. McNamara:

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you and the members of the Freedom Bass Anglers for donating the bait for the Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs™ clinics at Harford Glen and Eden Mill this summer.

I thought you might be interested in knowing that 179 children took part in the five week clinics at Harford Glen and 89 took part at Eden Mill. Of these, almost half were children who had never attended before. And almost all of the evaluations said that the part they liked best was "fishing!!!"

Again, please thank your members for their generous donation.

Sincerely,

Martha Shaum

I want to thank all the members who contributed plastics. As you can see from the letter, they were greatly appreciated.
