Can someone help me out a little with Siminole (trails end)

I plan on fishing in a open toureament there 8-1-09,,I havent been to this ramp every before i have only put in at Wingates,,I will be fishing out of a small 15foot boat with a 25 yammie and willing to make a run if need,, but was hoping someone might could give me a few leads in this area,,Not sure if i will be fishing alone or will have a empty back seat, should know by this weekend, Thanks in advance for any info Franklin

Here's a Google map for you - just zoom out to navigate from your location to Trails End - located on the south end of the Chattahoochee River - a couple miles noth of the lake. If you have fished in Fairchilds - it's at the south end of that bay.

If you're planning on fishing the Buzzmaster open you may want to make sure they allow boats that small. Sometimes there are size requirements.

FlfedAngler ,, Thanks I had not givin that a thought,, i just called an checked and theres no boat size requirement. If the weather permits we are going down in the morning to scout out some places to fish.

I think I'm going to fish it, but not certain. We will have to put in at Seminole Lodge and run up the river in the dark to get their but it's not that far by water, just to far by land. Went Saturday and did really good.

FlFedangler we went sunday and for never putting in there we done good i thought,, and i didnt even make it down to the lake, Like i said i only ever been out of wingates and it was allways with someone who knows the lake. I was amazed how much differant the river is down there compared to up at Eufaula. I do want to learn the boat roads thru the lake to be able to get back around to the Flint side,, most of the people i know fish out of Spring Creek or Wingates and all say that they had rather fish there than any other lake withtin the same distance. I have allways NOT adventured on the lake myself due to the FACT i know you MUST know the lake, its not deep and LOTS of stumps and trees. But Iam going to start going there more reg.

Good luck to you. Still not sure if I'm going to fish it, but probably not. Mainly due to having to run in the dark. There should be a bunch of fish caught.

Thanks FlFedAngler!! I understand about running in the dark, I dont know much about where you would be coming from but if its not on the main river i KNOW i wouldnt be running it in the dark. We are going back in the morning, We found a few good points and holes that was holding fish but i still need way way more as well as more time on the body of water.

it was a good turn out for the weather think it was 49 boats,, I cant remember any names but it was won with 27 pounds and it took over 20 pounds to be in the top five, We had five fish in less than a hour and cought fish allday just COULDNT upgrade them but by a oz or so at a time,, it poured about 11:30 on the west side of the lake for about a hour ,, the guys that fished the east side(spring creek) said it didnt rain at all there,,From the ones i talked to fish was taken in deep water on plastics but you know how that stories are lol ,, i cought my fish on 8in zoom plum lizzards fishing pads and lay downs in about 7ft water, There was some deep water 17ft plus in the area i fished that i spent way too much time tring to locate it! Overall it was a great day!

Great turn-out and some good bags of fish too!! Look forward to fishing one of these tourneys next year as I think 3 more are in the works. Thanks for posting the results!!

That's a great turn-out for these days. And the weight as usually at Seminole was great. When they called me to advertise on my site about the tournament, I told them it was free but all I ask is for a free entry for the advertising if I'm able to make the tournament. And even if they said no I still advertise it anyway. The committee met and decided not to give me an entry. No biggie, but first one to say no in years. Thursday before the tournament they called back and said they had changed there mind, my entry was paid for because when they asked everyone where they heard about the tournament he said almost all of them said my site. I thought that was cool. Sometimes I sure get tired of messing with it but when I get good feedback like that it kind of makes it worth it. Glad you had a good time and caught some fish.

FlFedAngler your a OUTSTANDING GUY!!! Most would have told them NO in a min if they had ask for a entry and didnt get it, I want to THANK YOU for advertising the tourament for the High School Band and wish you could have made it, if it had not been bad weather i think there would have been a good many more boats, i know 3 of my friends from here would have went but at 2am here it was pouring when we left the house headed down, And there was a good many boats that made it there by water in the dark, i would say atleast eight.Swede I talked with John Megee after it was over and he said he was going to be working getting one put togather up at Eufaula. said to keep an eye out on there web site. And THANKS AGAIN FlFedAngler for helping get the word out for high school band!!!

Speaking of driving over in the dark.We found out where all the may flies are at.There right in the middle of the lake.We stopped to get our bering and with in 20 secs you could not see the boat.Im not kidding you could not see the carpet.They were in my nose my mouth everywhere.It was crazy.
We only had about 10lbs so we didnt even weigh in.
