First I would like to thank my partner for a fun day on the water.  Nate I had a good time.  I just wish I could have helped you more.  One keeper for me was not a good day

Adam you guys had a nice bag of fish again.  You know you have a good sack when you can't tell what is your big fish

Friday I was confident we would have had around the weight that you guys had, but we ended up with weather that was too good for our fish   Our spot is hard to fish with anything other than a buzzfrog.  But with the  we were only able to get our first fish on the frog and then they were missing the frog.  Nate did a great job filling our limit flipping, but the big fish just did not want to eat. I think they might have got beat up on Saturday.   Nate I really might have to get some Bio-Bait.  I think you had 6 or 7 fish flipping the weeds and I only had one on a normal tube   When Nate filled out our limit we went to our back up spot looking for a couple upgrade fish.  Only to find out they turned into DOG FISH   I did have a sweet blow on a frog, that dog fish came out of the water at least 3 feet.  It was the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Karl how did you guys do after we took off??

 Yeah that was a good bag guys.  Congrats.  We had some good action, just couldn't get the big bite.  The 3lbrs that were in there on Fri were definately gone or just not eating at all.  We only had 4 blows on the buzzfrog which sucked.  The funny thing is that we pretty much sight fished all day.    ooo...A fish just busted over there.  Turn the motor on high to get over there and catch it a little bit later.  I will say as tough as it was, pitching the tube to that grass was pretty fun and man they would hit that thing and run.

and that dogfish was awesome, I couldn't believe how far he came out of the water haha...my worst part of the day was watching what I thought was a 4lb bass nose down on my tube jige and fight it to the boat to have it be a freaking dogfish.

Thanks guys but you guys did god too a limit on sunday was a good accomplishment.......very tough conditions under the cold morning paired up with the  skies and zero wind.........almost our whole bag that we had came from sight fishing fish that still remained on beds with biobait.........one good one  came on a cotton candy vibrashock, 10 or 11 keepers on a swim jig, and 4-5 keepers on a frog...................but all of them got called out by the flipping fish on beds......

BIObait is good stuff.  Jeremy and I were pitching tubes to grass clumps and I caught 6-1 doing this on the biobait and he had a regular tube, but you can't really judge on that cause from the front of the boat I had first shot at just about everything.  We only caught 1 on a frog and had a decent spinnerbait bite, but most were small.  Are best pattern was definately flipping tubes to grass patches.  Bob Walker came into the same spot and caught a few good fish, in the same area that you guys saw us at the end of the day, before we could make our way all the way around so that kind of sucked and after seeing him there I wonder if that spot didn't get hit the day before.  I hadn't seen another boat in there all week until sun.  Can't make to many excuses we fished hard and it was a tough day.  The spot we went to to get a bige bite ended up being a bust.  I could see some good bass, just couldn't get them to bite.  I would see them nose down on my tube, but no bite.

  thats what I was worried about.  Still plenty of fish they just lost there size.  We pretty much capatalized on everything we had.  Jeremy lost a keeper off of the jinxed stump  and other than that we did alright.  They hold on to the biobait so long its hard to miss them.    Flipping that grass was hard to detect the bite.  They ate it good, but it wasn't a tick, they kind of just swam off with it and I didn't realize it until I picked up on it.  I think I would have lost a couple fish if it wasn't for them holding on to it so long.

yeah there is an art to it definetely not too many people are good at it and not too many people know to do it but we still got 17 inchers on sunday in there

To bad we couldn't get any 17inches out of there.    We didn't really fish that point much, cause somebody else was always on it.  We concentrated more on the inside corner which I think was our downfall.  The water seemed to be dropping and that might be why some bigger ones were pulled off on the point.

Yeah just keep a tight lip on where that spot is at too much pressure ruins a spot like that and not too many people fish it right it was tough to get the big ones but with the falling water they might get out of here all together.............we used every trick in the book to ge them in the boat and shuldve had a 4-4.5 pounder that i screwed up with the net that scott had hooked up with   Oh well iam not going to complain about the number of fish caught for the conditions that we had

you don't got to worry about that.  My lips are sealed.    We actually ran to mallard bay sometime between when you and scott pulled in there looking for a big bite and didn't get it.  When we came back my boat seemed to be dragging the bottom where it hadn't an hour earlier so I think the water was dropping pretty fast.  Should have picked up on it sooner, but we were still getting bit in deep.  It sure was fun flipping the grass though, I love flipping.  Something about making that perfect cast and feeling a fish on the other end and setting the hook with everything you got that feels pretty good.  As jeremy and I found out, netting the fish in there is no easy task.  You put it in the water and you can't exactly scoop anything with all the pads and other weed.  I ended up swinging them all, but a 4lb would have been net worthy.

I'll be gone for a couple weeks so the spot will be unmalested by me for awhile.  Have fun catching them.

o i will but i will prolly be on to biger and better things this week the fish in that pool move liek crazy thank God or they would just get pounded on all the time.  yeah the flipping bite is awesome as long as too many people dont catch on to it but definetely fun when you can get on to a good flipping bite

Yeah I'm going to be completely lost when I get back from vacation.  2 weeks of not being on the river will be a killer, but I don't plan on doing another tourney for awhile so its not a big deal.  I might try to jump in on a charity event or something this summer, but otherwise my next tournament will probably be the sept team surpreme.  Hopefully I'll be back to work by then.

Nate just remember that spot that you asked me about on the way back up river   It should really be on fire by the time you get home from vacation.  In fact that whole area will be nice   Swimjig, tubes and frogs got to love it

I really wish we could have had the weather that we are having right now.  It would have been all good.  Nate is right, I am not ever going to fish that stump ever again.  Two keepers lost in two different tournaments   I normaly don't loose them on spinnerbaits   you know its not your day when you cant even hook a dog when you try

Adam you are right about that spot, about 5 years ago I found fish in there doing the same thing.  But it got beat on and was not the same for a long time   I only fished it one time last year and I think it was a big mistake

now that I read that it reminds me of the 3-4 boats that were running on plane into mccelcons when all of a sudden they shutdown and idled in.  Jeremy and I figured it was one of those, "what the heck are those guys doing in there, better go check it out."

so you didn't get anything?  I only did really well in spring lake 1 time this year and I caught alot of fish, but I'm not sure many of them would have been keepers.  I never seem to do good in there.  Everyone else is catching 4-5 pounders and I'm pulling out 14" fish.  I will say though I did some exploring this year and found some spots that looked really good I never knew about, so later this year or next year I'm going to recheck them all and see what they look like.

Usually the only ones that figure that spot out our the ones that have seen someone over there or watch them ctach something in there,,,,,,,,,,oh well the fishing goes on and people will still follow others around.   Hopefully the weather warms up in the mid 80's to get the bite going good on the frog
