I was going to hit the river yesterday afternoon.  But at 4:00 I get a phone call from my mom telling me that her car broke down on the interstate half way to Chi-town  ~xyz  She was going to the airport with my 84 year old Grandma to pick up my aunt that lives in Japan.  SO I had to rush to chicago to get them and then go to the airport.  So it was 10:30 before I got home last night >:(  So I was thinking that I was not going to get up early to fish this morning.

But at 5:45 my daughter was in my room, so I decided since I was up I might as well go.  It was a great choice.  I was on the river by 7:15 and was back off at 10:00.  I tried three spots and had a six fish limt.  Two fish in each spot.  The 2nd spot I had to leave after 10 cast.  I had two keepers with the biggest going almost 19" ~rant

The down fall of the day was I used the ramp at Mickelsons because I did not want to pay $3 for the other ramps.  So I was getting ready to run out and just as I rounded the island to head out I could see a guy in a flatboat waving and telling me to stop.  The  :ass had 100 yards of net strung out arcross the boat lane to go in and out.  If I would not have noticed him 100 yards away I would have ran right into it.  That was just about as mad as I have ever been on the water >:(

I went around.  But that ment I had to idle all the way out insted of  running out.  So it took my 10 min rather then 2.  The guy told me "oh I thought I could get it out of the way before anyone wanted to leave"

Looks fun Jeremy.  ~c~  Its probably the same  :ass that I saw around there the other day.  He had lines all over the dang place and one was just north of the small island running into MCcelsons from the main channel and on top of that he is using black freaking markers for his lines.  You can barely see the things.  I ran right next to them once and thought they were stumps sticking up.  ~b~

This guy had polls marking his, but when they are on both sides of a cut and 150 yards away I did not think they were for the same net.  I did see the black markers that you are talking about too.  They are about the size of a softball.  Talk about really easy to hit if you are going fast.  I was going 2mph and still had trouble seeing those black markers.

I guarantee someone will be cutting his lines  ~rant This happens every year, some yahoo gets the idea that he's going to try his luck at commercial fishing and lays his lines in the only boat lanes. Won't take him long to figure it out when he has to replace lines everyday. Those things wreak havoc on a lower unit  ~xyz Run the on the side of the boat lane, not across it  :bang

I remember a certain day last year Karl in Mccelsons when they were strung along the boat lanes and you still had a hell of a time.  lo  You just couldn't seem to keep your lure or trolling motor out of it that day.  lo  SNIP, SNIP!

shoot I remember 1 day last year some jerkoff had a net stretched half way across spring lake.  I was running along fine in 1-2ft waves then I see a marker roll across one of them and the next thing I know I can feel something dragging along and then my motor picks back up again and we are running along fine.  Seems as though I hit the net, but it must have just hit the nose cone for a sec and then slipped off, without a problem.

It seems like all you ever hear is about how tournament fisherman think they own the water and a re disrespectful, but I think its the commercial fisherman that think they own the water.  Yeah its their job, but some of them really just don't think or care about anybody else when they put their stuff out.

Yeah that is what I was thinking.

He had it gone by 9 am.  But there are a few that are just outside the boat lane

Heck I was heading back to the boat ramp at 9 ~roflmao

I just got done fixing plastic baits ::)  I have only 4 left in the color that I was catching them on today.  I have some in different colors, but I was melting the holes closed in the two that I tore up this morning.  The guy accross the streat was looking at me like I was crazy.  I really wish I had a bass pro shop right next to my house.

Looks like tomorrow will be a good topwater bite  ~rain

I'll be out there.  It'll be late which sucks, but my uncle is back from MN and I guess I'm taking him fishing.  I was planning on going to sabula, but I think I'm going to avoid sabula cause I'm sure the idiots will be out in full force and the boat ramps will probably be full.  So now I'm back to square 1  lo
