New Trolling Motor and Fish Finder Opinion

Well my old motorguide trolling motor finally died, I had to do surgery twice last year and it recently died again this year, so Im thinking about getting a new motor and fish finder.  Would appreciate any opinions, especially if you own the same items.

You might want to look at the reviews on BassPro.com before buying that Motorguide.  There are a lot of negative reviews.

Had them all and the minicota is the quietest and most reliable of them all. It may look like it's made in Russia but the variable speed is invaluable.

I understand that really extends the charge on your battery.  At the end of a long day my 40# Minn Kota Edge has just about used up the battery so I think I am going to save my money and buy a 55# Maxxum with variable speed.
