Any input on what prop I should  put on Merc XR6 150hp pushing a ProGator?

Your best bet on this is to use the prop shop board.  I think I saw that you posted in there once if I remember correctly.  It's just that realdealprops doesn't get a chance to get on here every day but he is a big help with all the prop questions.

Here is a link to his profile, might want to send him a PM about this.
realdealprops

There are a few things he is going to need to know

The prop to pad height
the size of prop you have now and how many RPM's you are turning it at WOT.
Max speed GPS if you can
How is the hole shot
How is the handling
If you have a jack plate or not.

I think that should get you a good starting answer with him.

Let me know if you have any trouble and I'll see what I can do from my end.

If you have a jackplate you may be able to turn a 25 with your motor about 3 inches under pad, if not I think a 24 would be all the prop you could turn. On my wildfire(lighter than a gator) I could turn a 25 about 56-5700 with the 150 XR6. My guess is the 24 is going to be the prop. I do have a banged up 25 you could try. Tempest plus runs good on those boats

What size gator are you running? I thought you mentioned you were getting a 178V. Those are real good boats. I ran a 23P (three different props) on mine and was turning 5700 rpms WOT. Of course I was running a 150 Johnson.
I've still got a 23P aluminum prop you can try. It may give you a starting point.  :-*

Russ, You did pm me about it and I must have deleted the message.

It is a 178V.

I have a 24 3blade Tempest Plus prop on it. Today i was running 5600rpms @ 58mph on Cross. Powertech said I should be able to get 64 out of it but I don't know.

I still have room to trim up and get to 6000rpms but i think 5700 is what Merc wants. I know while sitting at launch, my telltale isn't pumping water when motor is cold. Mel Smith said it won't until the thermostat opens up when the motor warms up. Water temp was 50.3. When I'm doing 50 mph or so the water is coming out of the telltale but not a jet stream like my old yamaha.

Powertech may just want to sell you a prop, Russ will know more but I doubt that Gator will see 64 thats scooting for a heavy boat with a 150

PS  Camo is really doing well ~c~

If you can still trim up and get more RPMs then I would lower the jack plate one click. This will allow you to get full trim  and the most bow raise. This weekend would be a good time to do some adjusting on it. I never saw 64 with mine except once. I was by myself, no load or gear, low fuel and it was when I only had a 12 volt trolling motor.
If you want to hit 65, take everything out of it including your trolling batteries and have a very light load. It will do it if conditions are right. However, I know that isn't what your looking for.
What diameter is your prop???
I'm going to Cross this afternoon to do some tuning myself.
