Ok Guys and Gals...

All the split ring pliers I have seen at Dick's Sporting goods seem... cheap...

Im looking for a decent pair that will last a good amount of time, while not breaking the bank...

Any Ideas?
Locations?
Approx price?

Thanks!

A Bad day on the water is still better than the best day at work!!@!!

Check out the ones from Texas Tackle at Cabelas. The best split ring pliers out there- bar none!
I think they go for like $15 but they're worth it if you mess with split rings a lot.

The ones from dick's look cheap and are kinda cheap but do the job just fine.    Course I don't change out that many split rings.......

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

Anglers Choice makes a good set for around $9.99 . I've got one pair that I have been trying to find more of for 3 years. My wife and I fight over them every night  lo I let her win most nights though  ;)

I had a cheap pair but bought a pair for like 15-20 bucks and it makes a huge differerence. Get the best ones you can find and afford.

I Googled for "best split ring pliers" and found at least 2 good recommendations for Texas Tackle Split Ring Pliers: one from Russ Bassdozer and another from Gary Dobyns:

Apparently they've also been written up in Bassmaster, In-Fisherman, Walleye In-Sider, The Fisherman, Saltwater Sportsman, Sportfishing, Florida Sportsman, Sports Afield and others. Dang, wish they made baits too.  lo

I've been using the same set of needle nose pliers for over 5yrs.   Just grind the teeth down on one side and make sure the jaw with teeth is always on top when you grab the ring.   I use this set of pliers for 0/0 up to #3 rings.   This was not my idea, got it from a guy over at TU when I first started building baits.

Thanks for all the replies guys...

I think I will order a set of the Texas Tackle Pliers... look good for a fair price...

Thanks!

You know my Rapala Fishing pliers came with a split ring rip on them and they have worked very well for me.  Bought them in a rapala combo pack for less than 20 bucks.
